DESCRIPTION:Math circles are groups that get together to learn and practice
  new math concepts. The Maker Math Circle here at the Space Center will fo
 cus on learning how to use hands-on “math experiments” to give you and
  your students intuition to build upon. We will also see how technologies 
 like 3D printing and open source electronics can enhance math learning. Co
 ntent will be teachable at a variety of levels\, K-12. Sign up for the gro
 up and come to any or all of the sessions. The room will open at 4:00pm fo
 r networking\, and we will work together on problems from 4:30-6:00pm. Eve

 erve as 3D printing and maker tech consultants. Together\, they have autho
 red several books on 3D printing and its use in education and curriculum b
 uilding. October 15 - Visual Probability: See fun ways to gain insight int
 o probability and statistics with tools like dice and LEGO bricks. Novembe
 r 19 - Fractals: We will create a group project that shows the mathematics
  of structures that are the same at many different scales. December 10 - M
 ath of Plants: We will explore Fibonacci series\, the golden angle\, and o
 ther phenomena and see how to design a plant that looks “right” versus
  one that looks “wrong.”
